This episode is filled with hysterical laughter as Don and Scott navigate the waters of listener emails and the topic of relationship with God from a Catholic’s and a Protestant’s perspective. Honestly, there is not a ton of difference, and the differences that are there are in the tools we use while walking out our relationships with God.
The episode starts by acknowledging danger number one: Drella is not a around to contain us. And we don’t mind one bit (wink). We start by discussing Eddie the Rambler’s emails (and we are not kidding when we say he rambles). Don tackles the topic of the idea of Mary being full of grace, while Scott ponders the thought that if we find no evidence that Mary is sinless, do we find any evidence that she sinned? He goes on to chat about what its like to be a Protestant attending a Catholic mass and being discouraged to take communion.
We then roll into the mian topic of the night: relationship with God. Don talks about about what a personal relationship with God looks like in his life. He references a powerful prayer:
Lord Jesus Christ, take all my freedom, my memory, my understanding, and my will. All that I have and cherish You have given me. I surrender it all to be guided by Your will. Your love and Your grace are wealth enough for me. Give me these, Lord Jesus, I ask for nothing more.
Amen.
Scott discusses relationship with God in his life and an awesome resource called the Daily Audio Bible, a podcast that has grounded his life.
